Seed's owned channels are where the member relationship is built — from first touch to loyal subscriber and back again when needed. This role owns that entire arc. The Senior Director of Lifecycle Marketing is accountable for the full lifecycle: acquisition nurture, conversion, activation, engagement, retention, and winback, with end-to-end ownership of email, SMS, and any future explorations for other LCM mechanisms.
This isn't a campaign-calendar role, it’s a real business leader within out growth organization. Lifecycle at Seed is one of the highest-leverage growth engines we have — owned channels are our most efficient path to conversion, and a subscription business lives or dies on retention — and the person who thrives here treats conversion, churn curves, and reactivation rates as their scoreboard, not open rates. They're equally at home in data and in craft: rigorous about cohorts and incrementality, uncompromising about how the brand shows up in an inbox.
What You'll Do
Acquisition Lifecycle
- Own the acquisition lifecycle strategy — lead capture, prospect nurture, and conversion journeys that turn interest into first purchase
- Build and optimize the pre-purchase journey architecture: welcome series, education flows, browse and cart abandonment, and re-engagement of unconverted leads
- Partner with Performance Marketing and Growth on lead generation strategy, ensuring paid and owned channels work as one system — with lifecycle maximizing the value of every lead acquired
- Own conversion accountability for owned channels: how efficiently email, SMS, and push turn prospects into members
Lifecycle Strategy & Retention
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle strategy — onboarding, engagement, cross-sell, churn prevention, and winback — with clear accountability for retention, LTV, and reactivation outcomes
- Build a best-in-class winback program grounded in Seed's own data: who lapses, why, when they're recoverable, and what actually brings them back
- Design churn-prevention interventions triggered by behavioral signals, not just tenure
- Own cross-sell and expansion strategy across the portfolio — moving members from a single product to a deeper relationship with Seed
Channels & Orchestration
- Own strategy and execution across email, SMS, and push — journey architecture, cadence, targeting, and creative direction
- Drive channel expansion thoughtfully: grow reachable audience (SMS opt-in, app engagement) without degrading trust or deliverability
- Ensure every lifecycle touchpoint reflects the Seed brand at its highest expression — science-forward, premium, never spammy
Data, Segmentation & Experimentation
- Build and own the lifecycle experimentation program — holdouts, incrementality testing, and a clear read on what's actually working versus what's noise
- Translate behavioral segmentation into differentiated journeys and messaging, in partnership with Data and Product
- Develop the measurement framework for lifecycle across the full funnel: lead-to-member conversion, retention curves, cohort LTV, reactivation rate, and revenue per member — and report on it with rigor
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Serve as the primary lifecycle voice in commercial planning — launches, promotions, pricing changes, and subscription mechanics all run through lifecycle
- Partner closely with Digital Product on the on-site and in-app expression of lifecycle strategy (subscription management, upsell surfaces, personalization)
- Build a high-performing lifecycle team and operating cadence — with this role setting strategy and standards, not writing every subject line
Who You Are
- You have 8+ years in lifecycle, CRM, or retention marketing, with meaningful depth in subscription or DTC businesses at scale — and you've owned both acquisition and retention lifecycle, not just one side of the funnel
- You've built lifecycle programs from first principles — not just optimized an inherited journey map, but defined what the member relationship should be and built the systems to deliver it
- You're genuinely analytical — fluent in cohort analysis, retention modeling, and incrementality — and you use data to decide what to build, not just to report on what shipped
- You know the difference between engagement metrics and business outcomes, and you optimize for the latter
- You're deeply fluent in modern lifecycle tooling — Iterable, Braze, Klaviyo, or similar — and you understand data architecture well enough to partner credibly with engineering and data teams
- You hold a high bar for craft. You believe lifecycle marketing can be beautiful, useful, and welcome — and you'd rather send less that lands than more that doesn't
- You operate with urgency and proactive judgment. When a program underperforms, you diagnose, reframe, or kill it — you don't let it drift
- You're opinionated and substantive, but intellectually honest. You form strong hypotheses, defend them with reasoning, and update them when evidence says otherwise
- You're a clear, structured communicator who can make retention strategy legible to executive stakeholders and actionable for your team
- Bonus: experience in health, wellness, or premium consumer brands; familiarity with Shopify and subscription platforms; exposure to personalization or ML-driven targeting systems
What Success Looks Like
- Retention and reactivation curves that visibly bend — with a clear, data-backed story for why
- Owned channels that are a meaningful, measurable driver of new member acquisition — with lead-to-member conversion improving quarter over quarter
- A winback program that's a genuine revenue engine, not a discount reflex
- A lifecycle experience members would describe as valuable, not tolerated — measurably reflected in engagement quality and NPS
- A measurement framework the executive team trusts, with lifecycle's contribution to LTV clearly quantified
- A team operating with increasing autonomy, with this role driving strategy, not coordination

Product
Seed Health is a microbiome science company pioneering clinically validated innovations for gut and whole-body health. Our portfolio of gut-directed products is developed in collaboration with leading scientists and backed by human clinical research. We’re best known for DS-01® Daily Synbiotic—the #1 digestive health probiotic in the U.S.—trusted by millions of people for its benefits in and beyond the gut, including skin, immune, and heart health.
We’ve since expanded our offerings to include PDS-08® for pediatric health, VS-01™ for vaginal health, and a new category of Co-Biotics for daily nutrition, energy, and sleep—each grounded in our commitment to scientific rigor, precision formulation, and impact across the body’s interconnected systems. Beyond the body, SeedLabs—our environmental research division—advances microbial solutions that restore biodiversity and support ecosystems affected by human activity.
We’ve built a profitable DTC business with category-leading retention, grown revenue 5x in the last 36 months, and expanded our reach across new channels and markets. With a robust clinical pipeline and continued expansion into new areas of microbiome health, we’re building for scale—with integrity, care, and curiosity.
Our work has been recognized by Fast Company (Most Innovative Companies, Brands That Matter, World Changing Ideas), TIME (Best Inventions), Forbes (America’s Best Startup Employers), and Inc. (Best in Business, Female Founder 100)—a reflection of the science behind our products and the stories we tell to bring them into the world.
We’re a galaxy-class team of researchers, clinicians, designers, engineers, storytellers, and builders—each aligned in our belief in the transformative potential of the microbiome. If you’re a kindred dot-connector looking to shape the future of health, join us.
You:
Seed is expanding fast into mass retail, Amazon, and new marketplaces, with a growing portfolio across gut, energy, sleep, pediatric, and daily nutrition. As we grow, the experience we build for our members is what ties it all together: the thing that turns a first encounter with Seed into a lasting, science-backed relationship.
This role exists to shape that experience. You'll help define what Seed's product experience should become, build the strategy to get there, and lead cross-functional teams to bring it to life through rapid experimentation and decisive execution. There's real surface area here — across how members discover Seed, how they engage over time, and how the experience evolves as our portfolio grows — and the autonomy to form a point of view on where you can drive the most impact.
This role reports to the VP of Digital Product and partners closely with Product Design, Engineering, Creative, Lifecycle Marketing, and Growth. It requires someone who leads with strategic conviction, moves with urgency, and treats Seed's product experience as a genuine differentiator — not a set of features to ship.
What You’ll Do:
- Own end-to-end strategy for your product area — whether that's the growth funnel (acquisition, conversion, activation) or the post-purchase member experience (engagement, retention, cross-sell) — defining what it should become, how it evolves, and what we build to make it real
- Develop and maintain a long-term product vision, working backward from an end-state to deliver compounding impact on company-level metrics, and translating Seed's science, brand, and retention goals into experiences that earn sustained engagement
- Set measurable goals tied directly to business KPIs — conversion, activation, LTV, rebill, retention — and own the outcomes, not just the roadmap
- Design and run short-cycle experiments that test real hypotheses about member behavior, generating signal rather than just shipping
- Partner with Product Design to set creative and strategic direction for member-facing experiences
- Collaborate across the growth-to-member handoff and cross-sell positioning, as members move from acquisition into a multi-product subscription relationship
- Contribute to multi-category portfolio expansion by exploring what members want and where the experience needs to evolve to support new products and channels
- Inform how Seed's owned digital experience evolves alongside emerging agentic commerce channels
- Present strategy and experiment results to leadership with clarity and conviction
Who You Are:
- 7+ years of product management experience, with significant depth in one or more of: growth, acquisition/conversion, subscription, retention, or post-purchase/member experience
- You've defined product strategy from ambiguity — not just optimized an existing surface, but articulated what it should become and built organizational conviction around your vision
- You lead cross-functional teams by setting strategic direction. Design, engineering, and brand partners look to you for the "what" and "why," not just the "when"
- You have experience in subscription or membership businesses at meaningful scale, and you understand that both growth and retention are fundamentally experience problems
- You're analytically fluent — comfortable with cohort analysis, LTV modeling, funnel metrics, and experiment design — and you use data to sharpen strategic bets, not just measure outputs. Familiarity with SQL and product analytics tools (e.g., Amplitude) is a strong plus
- You operate with urgency and proactive judgment. When work stalls, you reframe, escalate, or kill it — you don't let it drift
- You're opinionated and substantive, but intellectually honest. You form strong hypotheses, defend them with reasoning, and update them when evidence says otherwise
- You're a clear, structured communicator who can make complex strategy legible to senior stakeholders, cross-functional partners, and your own team
- Bonus: experience in DTC e-commerce, health/wellness, or premium consumer brands; familiarity with the Shopify ecosystem or subscription platforms; exposure to lifecycle/CRM systems (e.g., Klaviyo, Braze, Iterable), content-as-product, or personalization systems

Seed's digital experience is a primary expression of the brand — and this role owns it. The VP of Digital Product & Ecommerce is accountable for the full DTC experience: how customers discover, evaluate, purchase, and stay. From conversion mechanics to brand expression, from product roadmap to launch execution, this is a commercial and creative leadership role in equal measure.
This isn't a process role. It's an outcomes role. The person who thrives here is equally at home in product strategy and ecommerce economics, moves fast without sacrificing quality, and holds a genuinely high bar for craft.
What You'll Do
Digital Product
- Set the vision and standard for Seed's digital experience across web and app — conversion-optimized, brand-forward, and technically excellent
- Drive the product roadmap in close partnership with Engineering and Design, with clear accountability for delivery, quality, and measurable results
- Own the A/B testing and experimentation program, translating learnings into improvements in CVR, AOV, and LTV
- Champion site performance, accessibility, and speed as non-negotiables

- Lead on-site merchandising — how products are featured, sequenced, and sold
- Partner with Product Marketing on pricing dynamics and ensure on-site execution reflects broader commercial strategy
- Translate audience segmentation into personalized digital experiences
- Own the digital execution for all product launches — premium, cohesive, commercially effective
Cross-Functional Leadership

Who You Are:

- You've defined product strategy from ambiguity — not just optimized an existing experience, but articulated what it should become and built organizational conviction around your vision

- You connect experience decisions to business outcomes and can articulate those tradeoffs clearly to executive stakeholders
- You're analytically fluent — comfortable with CVR modeling, cohort analysis, and experiment design — and you use data to sharpen strategic bets, not just measure outputs
- You operate with urgency and proactive judgment. When work stalls, you reframe, escalate, or move on — you don't let it drift
- You're opinionated and substantive, but intellectually honest. You form strong hypotheses, defend them with reasoning, and update them when evidence says otherwise
- You hold a high bar for craft and brand expression — you understand that a premium digital experience is a commercial differentiator, not just a functional channel
- You're a clear, structured communicator who can make complex strategy legible to senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners alike
- Bonus: experience in health, wellness, or consumer brands with premium positioning; familiarity with Shopify ecosystem or subscription platforms; exposure to personalization systems or agentic commerce
