Bacteria are essential.

You are home to a community of 38,000,000,000,000 microorganisms (mostly bacteria). This is your microbiome. Among their many roles, bacteria aid in digestion and metabolism, and produce key vitamins, metabolites, and neurotransmitters. But, modern living and our daily choices disrupt our inner ecosystem and compromise our health beyond simple digestive issues.

The microbiome offers a more proactive approach to health. Alongside diet, exercise, and lifestyle, probiotics and prebiotics are complementary tools to care for our whole selves, not just our human part.

Why Seed?

‘Gut mania’ has put consumers around the world ahead of the science. Despite the ever-increasing number of probiotic supplements, foods and beverages, consumers are confused about what they are, how they work, and why they should take them. The science of probiotics demands precision, accountability and efficacy. We combine human clinical research, proprietary technology, and innovations in biofermentation, formulation, stabilization, and testing, to set a new standard for bacteria.

The science of our strains.

24 clinically-studied, naturally-occurring, human-derived strains. Not animal or soil. Validated in 23+ clinical studies. Not found in yoghurt, most supplements, or fermented foods and beverages.

Help them, help you.

A new class of patented, plant-based prebiotic compounds sourced from Indian pomegranate and Scandinavian chaga mushrooms and pine bark. Think: what bacteria use to do their best work.

Bacteria are fragile—we keep them safe.

Patented algae delivery and stability system ensures bacteria stay alive and viable through all stages of digestion, and make it to the colon. Bonus: no synthetic or chemical coating, and no refrigeration required up to 26 C / 79 F.

Manufacturing matters.

How bacteria are cultured impacts their viability. Our biofermentation is optimized for pH, temperature, and 28 other critical growth factors. Our mediums contain no meat or dairy.

Precision takes time.

Biofermentation time, prebiotic seasonality, transportation sensitivities, testing protocols, and a 135-day production cycle, mean we can only produce in specific amounts a few times a year.

Standard-setting standards.

We adhere to the highest global regulatory standards—EFSA (Europe) and FOSHU (Japan)—and rigorously test beyond what's required.

Based on 35 years of research and work in the microbial sciences, Seed’s Daily Synbiotic marks the evolution of probiotics and represents the true potential of beneficial microbes for human health.

What are the benefits?

Our bodies are complex and interconnected; positive change in one area can often trigger systemic improvements in overall health. This is the hallmark of an ecosystem and the foundation of our approach. It’s also why our benefits are extensive, yet precise.

Each beneficial claim we make is backed by rigorous science—including peer-reviewed, double-blind, published studies and our own human clinical work. Our Chief Scientist, Dr. Gregor Reid, and our Scientific Advisory Board oversee and evaluate this process. For strain specific studies, visit our Reference Library.

Formulated for the female biome.

“The female body has an incredibly unique relationship with bacteria. From the vaginal biome (where trillions of microorganisms balance pH) to the gut (where synthesis of key metabolites and vitamins like folate occurs), bacteria are involved in a woman’s health from birth through key life stages and moments like fertility, pregnancy, and menopause.”

Dr. Jacques Ravel, PhD
Co-Chair, Seed Scientific Advisory Board, Associate Director for Genomics at the Institute for Genome Sciences, Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

The Daily Synbiotic is the first probiotic to include probiotic strains that synthesize folate and increase production in the body.
Folate is a crucial vitamin—supporting the production and maintenance of red blood cells, as well as DNA. In the female body, it also plays a critical role in developmental periods during pregnancy. Women are routinely recommended to fortify their bodies with folate, typically through nutrition-rich foods like leafy greens, avocados, and citrus fruits, or in the form of folic acid, via supplements (which have a short half-life and are excreted by the body after 7 hours).

We’re serious about testing.

We’re serious about testing.

When it comes to bacteria, precision is critical. We test beyond what’s required to ensure you get what you need, in clinically-verified dosages, with demonstrated efficacy and safety.

Metagenomic / Whole-Genome Sequencing

Seed is the first probiotic to conduct whole-genome testing—the application of shotgun sequencing to microbial DNA to understand biodiversity and function and measure relative abundance.

Microbiology Testing

CFU stands for colony-forming units, and is a common form of measurement for quantifying how many bacteria in probiotics are capable of dividing and forming colonies.

Unfortunately, CFU is often used as a marketing tool. Many probiotics today proclaim outrageously enormous CFU counts, but are unable to survive the trip from manufacture to store shelf, much less the journey from your mouth, through your acidic digestive process, to your gut.

Our patented algae-delivery technology demonstrates proven survivability through digestion and maintains 18-month shelf stability with no refrigeration necessary up to 26 C / 79 F.

For further precision, we measure AFU (active fluorescent units) and TFU (total fluorescent units) in addition to CFU. AFU and TFU are measured with flow cytometry, a process where probiotic cells are tagged with fluorescent ‘markers’ and counted by a laser as they pass through a tube. Through AFU, we are able to calculate all viable cells, including ones that are efficacious but not necessarily culturable (and therefore would not be counted in a traditional plated CFU measurement).

Quality Control

With over 50 quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) checkpoints, we monitor purity under both US and European protocols (including cGMP + HAACP) throughout the production cycle.

Strain Identification + In Vitro Testing

Our process includes extensive testing to ensure we understand how our probiotic strains interact with one another, human cells, and even yeast, fungi, and antimicrobials.

Biofermentation

Bacteria are sensitive. They must be cultured with care to ensure viability—for example, even trace amounts of moisture or light can be devastating. We optimize biofermentation conditions for pH, water activity, temperature, and 28 other factors.

Questions we love to answer.

What is the Daily Synbiotic?

Seed’s Daily Synbiotic combines clinically-verified, naturally-occurring, human-derived probiotics strains (not found in yoghurt, most supplements, or fermented foods and beverages) with a new class of patented plant-based, non-fermenting prebiotics sourced from Indian pomegranate and Scandinavian chaga mushroom and pine bark. It’s available in both female (24 strains) and male (20 strains) formulations.

It’s the first to take a Microbe-Systems Approach with strain-specific benefits beyond digestive health, including heart health, skin health, immune function, reproductive health, gut barrier integrity, and oxidative stress. The female formulation is also the first to increase folate production from within the body.

Who should take the Daily Synbiotic?

The Daily Synbiotic is meant for humans ages 18+.

What does the Daily Synbiotic do?

The Daily Synbiotic provides benefits around gastrointestinal function, gut barrier integrity, cardiovascular health, metabolism and energy production, inflammation and immune function, and oxidative stress. The female formulation also includes additional benefits in folate production and dermatological health.

Is the Daily Synbiotic gluten-free? Vegan? Kosher?

Absolutely!

The Daily Synbiotic is free from: Dairy • Gluten • Soy • GMOs • Binders • Fillers • Flowing Agents • Excipients • Preservatives • All 12 classes of allergens defined by (EFSA) – European Food and Safety Authority

It adheres to the following diets: Vegan • Vegetarian • Kosher • Halal • Ketogenic

How do I take the Daily Synbiotic?

Adults—take 3 capsules daily, all at once. Preferably on an empty stomach, at least an hour prior to a meal containing fiber, or at night before bed. You may also open capsules and mix with water.

Can I take this with other supplements?

Yes, the Daily Synbiotic is safe to take with other supplements.

When will I feel something?

Everyone’s body is different, and the benefits you ‘feel’ (reduced bloating, more regular bowel movements, higher energy) are often just the most visceral ones.

Many people feel results in as a little as 24-48 hours due to localized benefits like improved digestion. Other longer term benefits like cardiovascular health and metabolic function may take longer, or you may not notice anything at all. That’s completely normal. As long as you continue your daily intake, those beneficial microbes are doing their work inside to program, sustain, and enhance your health.

Do I need to refrigerate my Daily Synbiotic?

The short answer is no. No refrigeration necessary up to 26 C / 79 F.

It’s a question we receive often, especially since so many probiotics are sold in refrigerated section at grocery and natural retailers. Oftentimes, this refrigeration is a precaution to extend shelf life rather than a sign of ‘freshness’. In fact, if a probiotic does not survive at ambient temperature (79 degrees Fahrenheit) outside of the refrigerator, it can reflect weak stability of the product, low viable organism count, or inadequate overages in the formulation.

Our probiotic strains are stable up to 79 degrees Fahrenheit – so if your house is warmer than that for extended periods, it’s better to store the bottle in the refrigerator. At time of manufacture, we also include significant overages to counteract any short term heat based stress (both formulations contain 180% of viable probiotic cells at time of manufacture), which is an industry-leading practice.

If you do store the probiotic in the refrigerator after opening, please note that since the seal has been broken we recommend storing the jar inside an airlock container or Ziploc bag to minimize exposure to moisture and condensation from the refrigerated interior.
