Dr. William B. Miller is a physician, radiologist, evolutionary biologist, and lecturer. His profound interest on the subject of human evolution was sparked by a chance visit to the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago, an ‘origin’ day trip that catapulted him into years of research on human evolution and a diverging viewpoint from mainstream Darwinian theory.
He authored the book, “The Microcosm Within: Evolution and Extinction in the Hologenome,” which demonstrates how cognitive abilities of cells and extensive active microbe DNA inside other organisms are, in fact, the critical drivers of evolution. Dr, Miller states, “…we are in fact an incredibly complex network of collaborative, cooperative and competitive cellular ecologies composed of our innate cells and almost incalculably numerous microbial inhabitants. These environments are so seamlessly linked together that we feel as if we are just one being. We do not merely coexist with this additional life. This microcosm within and on us is essential to our well-being.” The hologenome is his term for the totality of all cells and microbes within any organism.
Dr. Miller has run a private practice of diagnostic radiology for 30 years. Dr. Miller is a graduate of Northwestern University in Biology, Northwestern Medical School, and is a member of the medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha. He is currently the co-editor of the Society for the Advancement of Meta-Darwinism, a new pluralistic academic forum encouraging the presentation and discussion of divergent views on evolutionary development.
